Brief History of the Statue of Liberty from the French side: The Statue of Liberty was designed by French sculptor Bartholdi and completed in July 1884. Bartholdi produced a number of miniaturized working models, including the model still visible in Paris as is shown on this art print. The final structure was designed by engineer Gustave Eiffel, who later built the Eiffel Tower.
