Here are the details of our online store shipping policy.
Delivery in the US, Canada, Mexico, the UK, Europe, and Australia
Saveur du Jour ships products to the US, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, the UK, France, European countries, Australia, Brazil, South Africa, Japan, Hong Kong, and many other countries. Macarons and charcuterie, however, only ship within the US. Please make sure that your shipping address is a street address, as we do not deliver to P.O. boxes.
Shipping from the US and Shipping from France
Some products ship from the US and some products ship from France. Products shipping from France are marked explicitely "This product ships from France".
If you order a combination of products that ship from the US and products that ship from France, you will receive two shipments and the shipping cost will be the sum of the shipping costs from the US and from France.
Products Shipping from France
Products shipping from France are marked explicitely "This product ships from France". We offer two shipping methods from France:
- International Mail (delivery by USPS). This is the most affordable method. The shipping delay is between 6 and 12 days and no tracking number is provided, sorry.
- FedEx International. This method is a little more expensive, however the shipping delay is only 3 to 5 days and you will receive a tracking number.
Macarons and Madeleines
Macaroons and Madeleines are shipped directly from our pastry in the US.
The standard shipping method for macarons is UPS 2nd day so they stay fresh. Order Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday before noon EST and you will get your macarons 2 days later.
If you order on a Thursday or a Friday, your order will ship the following Monday and be delivered Wednesday.
UPS next day is also available: place your order Monday through Thursday before 12-noon EST and you will get it the following day.
Please note that there are no deliveries on Saturday, and that Macarons and Madeleines only ship within the US.
Charcuterie and Products by the Case
Charcuterie, Products by the Case and Gift Baskets ship from the US.
- Charcuterie. To guarantee the best product quality, Charcuterie and meat products ship from California by UPS next day if they are frozen, UPS 2nd day otherwise.
- Products by the Case ship by UPS ground.

Time in transit and Delivery Date
Orders placed before noon EST ship that same day. Otherwise they ship the next business day.
Orders placed on week ends ship the following Monday.
For products ordered with UPS 2nd day, the product is delivered 2 days after your order if you order before noon EST (e.g., order Monday before noon EST, get your order Wed.).
For products ordered with UPS next day, the product is delivered the day after your order if you order before noon EST (e.g., order Thursday before noon EST, get your order Friday).
Note to North-American buyers
As a North-American buyer from France, you are the “importer” of goods. Goods entering the US may be inspected by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection and assessed for applicable Customs duties, taxes and charges, if any. Likewise, goods entering Canada may be inspected by Canadian Customs and assessed for applicable Customs duties, taxes and charges, if any.
It is the importer's responsibility to account for any duties and/or taxes, while ensuring compliance with Customs regulations in the US and in Canada.
Shipping Fee for Destinations outside of the US
Shipping fees are US$8 and up. Shipping fees vary based on the shipping weight.
We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover credit cards on the site. PayPal users can also pay with their PayPal account.
Orders Taken over the Phone
Although online orders are the preferred method, we gladly take orders over the phone. Please call our US number at +1 408 844-4155 to place your order over the phone.
Payment by Check
You can also pay by check. Please contact us if you wish to pay by check.
Paying by check will take a little longer than paying by credit card because we will ship your goods only once we receive your check.
Refused Shipment/Delivery Failure due to Lack of Availability
It is important that each customer provide us with the correct shipping information.
Any orders placed with incorrect addresses and/or zip codes that need to be corrected by UPS for delivery will incur an additional charge of $5.00 for standard delivery or $10.00 for express delivery options.
Any shipments that are returned to Saveur du Jour by shipping carriers due to: refusal of delivery; incorrect address supplied by customer; undeliverable address or delivery failure due to lack of availability on recipient's part will not be automatically refunded.
Refunds that are requested and approved by Saveur du Jour will be issued to your credit card.
If you wish that the order be re-shipped, a second shipping charge will be billed equivalent to actual shipping charges or published shipping charges, whichever is greater.
Please make sure that your shipping address is a street address, as we do not deliver to a P.O. Box.
Please be aware that there are absolutely no refunds on International orders.
You will receive an automated email notification to inform you about your order status. Please note that international shipments cannot be tracked once they leave the US and therefore cannot be guaranteed.
Loss and Damaged Merchandise
Inspect merchandise immediately upon receipt and notify carrier if shipment is lost or damaged. All claims must be filed with the carrier.
Out of Stock Items
Items out of stock are marked “out of stock” on the Saveur du Jour site. You will be notified if an item is out of stock prior to placing the order. If for some reason an item becomes unavailable between the time you order the item and the time it is shipped, you will be notified immediately and a full refund of the out of stock item will be applied to your credit card as soon as possible, and in any event within 60 days of your order.
If you are not satisfied with your order, please return the items in original condition with a copy of the invoice within 7 DAYS.
All items must be new and unused, preferably in the original packaging, with the freight prepaid.
Shipping and handling charges are not refundable.
Sorry, we cannot accept any returns after 7 DAYS or without an invoice.
There are absolutely no returns on perishable items including meat, charcuterie, macarons and madeleines.
Please inspect and check the items that you ordered once you receive them. Please use a traceable shipping method (UPS, FEDEX, or insured mail) to return your order.
Saveur du Jour is not responsible for return orders that we do not receive or if the returned order is damaged during shipping. You don't need to get authorization from us to return an order.
Our Right to Refuse Your Order
We reserve the right to refuse your order for any reason.
If we refuse your order we will notify you by email and a full refund of your order will be applied to your credit card as soon as possible, and in any event within 60 days of your order. We will not be obliged to offer any additional compensation for the disappointment suffered.
