Vichy mints (Pastilles de Vichy) have been produced since the 19th century. They are made of sugar, mineral salts extracted from Vichy waters and natural mint flavor. 

Vichy, is a famous thermal town in the center of France. Thermal towns were very popular in the 19th century. The "pastilles de Vichy" were even prescribed by doctors. Patients never complained as they are so sweet and delicious.
