Fabulous vintage Ciner black enamel and gold tone clip-on earrings from the 1980's. Those round earrings feature geometric shapes with a gold tone border filled with black enamel. 

They are signed Ciner at the back and are in excellent vintage condition. Ciner puts the emphasis on quality and excellent craftmanship and this is why costume-jewelry collectors prize vintage Ciner pieces today.

Founded in 1892 by Emanuel Ciner New York based company “Ciner Manufacturing Co, Inc” originally made only expensive jewelry. However, since 1929, due to the Great Depression, the demand for expensive jewelry dropped significantly. To stay in the business and just to survive, the company turned its attention to costume jewelry.

Since 1930, they have been making costume jewelry of very high quality, reminiscent of fine jewelry.

Innovative technologies and rich experience with precious materials allowed masters to artfully combine precious stones, gold plating, natural pearls, and rhinestones.

The company began marking jewelry with “CINER” stamp only after 1945.
