Vintage Rare Hobe Rhinestones & Gold Tone Wire Floral Brooch

Exquisite Hobe rhinestones and gold tone wire floral brooch from the 1950's. This brooch is an example of Hobe hand wrought gilt wire work, with 6 delicate rhinestone flowers in pastel colors green, pink and light amethyst and, three unfoiled open back marquise rhinestones as the leaves.  All rhinestones are prong set.

This pin is signed Hobe in an oval cartouche at the back and is in excellent vintage condition. ( on some of the pictures it looks like there's some gold finish lost but it is due to the light and editing when the background was removed).

A very elegant brooch that will add a colorful note to any outfit and a great addition to any vintage jewelry collection.

Hobe et Cie was founded in Paris in 1887 by Jacques Hobe. His concept was to use fine jewelry techniques and non-precious materials to create jewelry for the middle class as well as for the wealthy. Brought to America in 1915 by his son William, Hobe jewelry was popular not only with everyday customers, but also with the Hollywood stars. The name Hobe is synonymous with quality. Their hand wrought gilt wire work jewelry from circa 1940-1950 is truly beautiful. Some of the Hobe jewelry from this era is set with semi-precious stones and some with brilliant rhinestones, often unfoiled. The hand fashioned wire work is masterful, adding to the appeal of this jewelry. Hobe jewelry is very collectible.
