French Sauerkraut - Choucroute aux Lardons  by Andre Laurent

Choucroute is the French version of sauerkraut. It is a traditional dish in Alsace  made with tasty seasoning especially juniper berries and slow cooked in wine. André Laurent choucroute is cooked with lardons (small bacon pieces) and Champagne. This comfort food dish is usually served with boiled potatoes, sausages and various cuts of pork, but you can be creative when it comes to accompanying meats. Cook with 1/2 glass of water over low heat. Serve hot.

Based in the Champagne Ardennes region, André Laurent has been a family-owned business ever since 1945. They even grow their own cabbages.Today the company is run by the Laurent family's fourth generation.
